Top 5 Christmas movies
Need some help getting into the Christmas spirit this holiday season? No problem - we've rounded up some of our favourite festive flicks. Whether you're home for the holidays or out of town, these Christmas movies will remind you what it's all about. Get some popcorn and enjoy!
1. Love Actually (2003)
A little bit cheesy and very British, it tells the story of eight very different couples dealing with all kinds of ish in the month leading up to Christmas. Not only does it have a great soundtrack (Need we remind you of the Sugababes' Too Lost in You?) but it's also honest and funny!
2. The Best Man Holiday (2013)
Fourteen years after The Best Man, some of our fave actors reunite in New York for the Christmas holidays. Taye Diggs, Terence Howard, Morris Chestnut, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and some other familiar faces are back together but things have changed. It's like catching up with old chomas.
3. Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas (2013)
Madea movies aren't for everyone but if you're in the mood for something silly, this one's for you. Madea finds herself in the country, when visiting her friend's daughter, her white boyfriend and his redneck parents. Good for a laugh when you're too full of Christmas turkey to move off the couch.
4. While You Were Sleeping (1995)
One of Sandra Bullock’s first big movies is still one of our favourites. She plays Lucy, a lonely token collector who's been crushing on a handsome train commuter for ages. When he falls on the tracks, she saves him from an oncoming train and becomes part of his family, while he lies in coma. It never gets old.
5. The Last Holiday (2006)
We love Queen Latifah so much we'd watch her in washing powder adverts if we had to. In this holiday movie, she stars a Georgia, a conservative woman who works at a department stores, shops with coupons and is too shy to tell a colleague (LL Cool J) how she feels about him When she learns that she only she has three weeks to live, she quits her job, goes to Europe and really starts to live!
