Dealing with acne
Every girl wants to feel like a superstar and have a beautiful, clear face. Having acne and pimples is very common but can cause a deep dent in your self-esteem and hold you back.
Acne can be influenced by your body’s hormones or caused by something that you could be doing to your skin. It usually makes an appearance on the face, chest, back and shoulders and can last after puberty.
What’s important is to get acne treated as soon as you notice breakouts, no matter how mild they may look. You can chat to your doctor or visit your pharmacist for over-the-counter acne treatment.
Resist the urge to pop your pimples, as this will only aggravate the problem and cause your skin to develop dark spots. If the acne is severe and won’t let up, you may need to see a dermatologist for prescription medication.
Your skincare routine will typically involve a cleanser, moisturiser and product targeted to treating acne. Follow it to the tee. Don’t skimp if it says use it twice a day. When choosing products, remember to keep in mind the type of skin you have – is it normal, sensitive, oily, combination or dry?
Go for products noted to help reduce the appearance of imperfections and help protect against pimples, purify skin and reduce marks on the face. Some options include Garnier Pure, Protex Deep Clean and Oxy10.
While you treat your acne and are on the road to clear skin, the most important thing is to appreciate yourself regardless of how your skin looks. Say something great about yourself everyday – after all, you do become what you believe.
