Myths about people living with albinism
Albinism is a genetic condition which affects the skin, hair, and eyes. When you’re born with albinism it means that you’re not born with a sufficient amount of melanin - which is responsible for hair, skin and eye colour. The more melanin you have, the darker your skin. The less melanin you have, the lighter your skin. Let’s remember that, not only is discrimination and violating someone’s rights illegal, it is wrong. Before judging anyone based on the colour of their skin, understand that we are all human.
