5 ways you’re neglecting your health
When life takes over, it is easy to get caught up in the stress of a moment and not pay enough attention to our bodies showing us signs of distress. Here are 5 ways you could be neglecting your health.
Toxic relationships and friendships are draining and can affect your health negatively by putting you under a lot of stress. The kind of stress you get from negative relationships can actually still affect your health and lead to health issues. Don’t ignore how important healthy relationships are for your overall health.
Not doing check-ups
Your body is forever changing, so you need to check on it every now and then. Going for regular sexual reproductive health check-ups should be one of your priorities - especially if you’re sexually active. You can read these health articles to learn more about the importance of taking care of your body.
Bottling your emotions
Bottling your emotions isn’t healthy because it can cause a lot of anger, and stress you out. If you’re one of those people who avoid expressing their feelings, I want you to know that I am always here for you and if you need to talk, you can always send me a message on Ask Choma.
If you’re going through a difficult time, you don’t have to push those who care for you away. It’s important to connect with those around you while still prioritising yourself. Isolating yourself is not a healthy way to deal with issues. Talk to someone, be around people who care for you, and find places with people and things that bring you joy.
Not drinking enough water
We all know that drinking enough water is good for our health but how many of us actually do it? Water is actually good for your skin, nails and hair! It also flushes toxins out of your body and boosts your immune system, which is why you should take it seriously. If you need that natural glow, drink more water.
There are many other little ways that you might be neglecting your body and it’s something that we all do. But being more conscious of your mental, physical and emotional health is a good way to ensure that you’re taking better care of your entire being. Listen to your body at all times, and remember: rest if you’re tired and ask for help when you need it.
