Can you give up your guilty pleasure?
Is your life so cray that you don’t have time to stop and enjoy the moment? Why not remove some of the clutter and see if your happiness levels improve? Yep you heard right. Stop gossiping, taking selfies, eating sugar and watching TV and see what happens.
Nobody loves social media or IsiBaya more than us but sometimes our obsessions get in the way of real moments with real people. Challenge yourself to let go of your guilty pleasure, if only for a week and notice all the other opportunities that pop up.
Instead of talking about chomas behind their backs, judging your classmates’ bodies, outfits or hair do’s, try say something nice. It may be feel forced in the beginning but trust us when we say positive people attract positive things.
Eish, no IsiBaya or Kardashian reruns! You’ll survive, we promise. You’ll have so much extra time you won’t know what to do with yourself! Read a book, talk to your mama, go for a walk or hit those school books.
Yes, we’re looking at you. Hold yourself back from taking, posting and posing for selfies for just seven days. Let people get to know the real you, and not just your pout. Rather take pics of your family, friends or a beautiful sunset. How long can you last?
We’ll admit that this one is a toughie. So if you can’t give up sugar completely, just cut down on the refined sweet stuff. Most of us have too much of it anyway. Whether it’s in your tea and coffee, a chocolate bar (or two) after class or that sneaky can of Coke on weekends, just say no. You will feel better, look better and maybe even fit into those denim shorts better.
Not everything we love, is good for us. When something becomes an addiction it can impact your life in ways you won’t realise. Test yourself and see if the things you love, love you back. If not, maybe it’s time to move on.
