2016's Winter Fashion

You know it’s winter when you have to start wearing more than one layer of clothes to keep warm, right chomas? However, putting on layers of clothing doesn’t mean you have to forget about staying stylish. Whether you rock your ankle boots or collarless jacket with denim jeans or pair your turtle neck top with a figure-hugging skirt, you can still have fun with your winter clothing. Here are winter trends for 2016 to help you stay warm and fashionable.

Chunky knit sweater

Oversized outer layers like coats, bags and belts have become fashion statements for most girls. But nothing is more comfortable than wearing chunky knit sweaters chomas! They’re warm, come in different styles and most importantly will keep you stylishly warm throughout winter! You can visit Mr Price or Legit for affordable styles chomas.

Add a pop of colour

Make-up is a creative, fun and fashionable way of wearing colour. For your lips, add a sunny colour to brighten up your look, like ruby red or bright orange. Remember to always keep your lips soft and ‘poutiful’ during winter too chomas. You can find out how to here. Add a lighter shade of eyeshadow, but make sure it matches your skin tone before buying. To stand out, accessorise with a bright, oversized coat, belt, bag or scarf in yellow, pink or orange.

Bodycon or figure hugging skirt

Bodycon skirts (also known as figure-hugging skirts) are great because they can flatter your figure no matter your body type. Make sure the waistline of the skirt sits high-waisted so that it flatters your waistline, which is about 5cm from your belly-button. You can pair it up with a pair of knee-high boots to keep warm and stylish. Bodycon skirts start from R79.99 at Mr Price and they come in many different styles and colours. They’re easy to wear and go with almost anything.

Denim on denim

Chomas, this trend is making its way back! Wearing different shades of blue can get boring, so don’t be afraid to pair your white denim jeans with a long sleeve blue denim shirt (There are a few stores that have amazing and affordable ones chomas). Your denim doesn’t always have to be in just one colour.

Layering

Layering your clothes is one of the best things to do because, if you do it right, you can stay warm and trendy. The trick is to play around with colours and textures, but make sure they work together chomas. For example, you can wear a yellow chunky sweater with a white turtleneck and finish off that bold statement with a bright yellow scarf, or try a blue denim shirt with a long jacket and a scarf.

Monochrome

Black and white are classical colours that suit anyone. Most of us have at least one item in black or white (or both) in our wardrobe. Make your look edgy this season by pairing a black and white printed skirt with a black or white turtleneck. If you prefer to keep it simple, get a pair of jeans and a sweater in the same colour (either black or white) and accessorise with jewellery of the opposite colour.

You don’t have to beat the cold in style by breaking the bank chomas. Just use the clothes you already have and try out different styles with these trends. Have fun and keep warm this winter chomas!
