How to build your body confidence
We absorb many messages about what our bodies should like, whether it’s from the media, at home or from friends, forgetting that no two people look exactly the same. We may sometimes forget to spring clean these messages from our minds. Building self-esteem has to start from the inside choma, and to build your body confidence, you’ll need to start changing what thoughts you put into your mind. Here are ways you can build your body confidence choma.
Focus on what body parts you love
Pay more attention on the body parts you love about yourself – your eyes, thighs, buttocks, arms – and say it out loud to yourself every day. By regularly talking positively about the body parts you love, you will eventually accept and love even the parts that you don’t really like. This will in turn make you love your body as a whole and change how you talk to yourself about your body.
Avoid negative media
Learning to get to accept all of your body parts – the ones you love and the ones you are still learning to love - will help you like yourself more. To get to this level choma, try and avoid reading negative stuff or watching TV shows that shame or mock other people. This may negatively affect you and make you judge yourself more, causing you to not like yourself choma.
Don’t compare yourself to others
We are all different and comparing yourself to others is not fair on your development as an individual choma. Instead of comparing yourself to others, compare yourself to yourself. Focus on your growth, on what you have planned to achieve, what you have achieved and what progress you have made towards reaching your goals. There will be people who are better at some things than you, but also, there will be things that you’re better at than others. By learning to understand that, then you can be less judgemental on yourself.
Surround yourself with positive people
There is so much power in the company we keep. Friends are there to compliment you, not bring you down. Positive people will inspire you to better person, motivate you to achieving your goals and help you realise that you are enough. Positive people, speak positively – about themselves and others. That will eventually rub off on you and you’ll begin to speak positively about yourself.
Speak to someone when feeling down
Sometimes low self-esteem and how negatively we view ourselves, can be too much to handle alone choma. You may end up having suicidal thoughts or avoid going to events and seeing people because you lack body confidence. Whenever you feel like that choma, please speak to someone you trust or you can anonymously share your story anytime of any day. You too deserve a chance at happiness.
Most importantly choma, understand that you are more than how you look. Your body may change as you get older, and that’s why accepting your body and learning to build the confidence you need to love your whole body now is so important. Appreciate everyone’s differences, including your own. By focusing on what makes you stand out and unique, you will learn interesting things about yourself. And if you focus on becoming healthier with these steps and take care of your body, it will take care of you.
