7 amazing facts about the female body
Your body is amazing in so many ways Choma. The female body is strong and fascinating and you realize it more the more you learn about it. So here are some interesting facts about what makes your body different. Of course, this doesn’t mean that men and women are completely different, it just means that our bodies are often different. Here are a few interesting facts:
You have a stronger immune system
Men have a hormone called testosterone which plays a key role in the development of male reproductive tissues. But because of their testosterone, they are also less likely to be able to fight off infections. Women are apparently better able to fight off bacterial, viral, fungal and other types of infections
Your heart probably beats faster
Men apparently have slightly bigger sized hearts than women. So it takes less time for your heart to go between beats, meaning it would beat faster. Fascinating right?
You have a lower risk for heart failure
It’s been proved that the sex hormone, oestrogen (responsible for the development of reproductive tissue in women) protects women from certain strokes, and that explains why you are far less likely to have a heart attack.
You have a stronger sense of taste
Considering that women have a stronger sense of smell, this is not farfetched. Apparently Choma, women have more taste buds on their tongues than men.
You are more flexible
Women’s muscles contain more elastin, making them more flexible. Whereas with males, more testosterone can mean more muscle mass and less flexibility. Since women don’t have as much testosterone as men, this could play a role in the flexibility of our bodies. However, it’s important to note Choma that your genes can play a part. Sometimes you’re more flexible than someone else because it runs in your family.
Women have a higher pain tolerance
Women can actually handle pain much better. This is mainly in terms of endurance, meaning that you can handle pain for a much longer time. This could be one of the reasons why women are the ones who carry babies and not men, think about it.
Choma, it’s important to know that these facts are based on studies that have been conducted over time and are purely general gender differences that make interesting facts. However, everyone's body is different and your gender doesn’t make you better or worse than anyone. This is just a reminder that your body is strong, fascinating and wonderful!
