#FeatureFriday: Zizipho Dingana

Zizipho Dingana is a 27-year-old Digital Analyst and Food blogger. She was born in Eastern Cape in a small town called Mthatha, and she grew up in Cape Town. She completed her BCom Economics in Bloemfontein and she currently lives in Johannesburg. She works in the telecommunications industry and enjoys being a food blogger and home cook. Choma had a conversation with Zizipho and this is what I found out…

Zizipho Dingana discovered that she was passionate about cooking and showcased her skills on social media where she got a lot of love, as well as requests, for her recipes. She then decided to start a blog where she posts about her recipes. Upon realising that she actually has a fanbase on social media, she decided to pursue her passion as a food blogger.

She’s learned to juggle her career and side-hustle by prioritising and managing her time well, and she thinks it works well for her.

Zizipho is a bubbly, confident, and opinionated person who is not shy about sharing her professional insights about the country’s economy, current affairs as well as her life experiences.

She does not conform to society’s gender stereotypes and, on many occasions, she has expressed that she is #DoneWithSilence when it comes to society’s gender stereotypes and gender inequality.

When asked what she would tell her 13 year-old self, she said: “the world is your oyster, your dreams are valid and don’t be too scared to fly.”

These are the words that she lives by: “The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams.”  - Eleanor Rosevelt

What this quote means is, you should never think your dreams are not good enough or valid. If you work towards your goals, you will achieve them.

You can follow Zizipho’s blog here, check out her posts on Instagram or keep up with her on Twitter.
