Living a balanced life in 2020
A balanced life brings order, saves you time and helps you avoid unnecessary chaos. So how can you manage your family life, school/work and your friendships and relationships? Here are my tips.
Take Care of You
Taking care of yourself first is not being selfish. It simply means that you prioritise your mental and physical wellbeing before you can look after others. This year, make sure that you are eating right, exercising, and that you are taking care of your mental wellbeing before offering to help other people.
Get enough sleep
Sleep is a vital part of making sure you feel balanced and complete. It’s important to go to bed at a decent hour so that you get enough sleep. Most adults need about 7-8 hours of sleep to feel fully recharged. Also, the hours before midnight offer the best sleep and if you go to bed by 9 or 10 PM, you’ll feel so much better, I promise!
Expect the unexpected
Don’t fall into the trap of wanting everything to be perfect. Life can be full of disappointments accidents, and other unexpected events. Don’t expect everything to always go perfectly. People will also disappoint you, sometimes and that is okay. Allow yourself to forgive it and move on.
Organise your days
Creating a balanced life isn’t possible if you go through each day without a plan. Have you ever gotten to the end of a day and wondered where all the time went? Or maybe you got to the end of the year and realised that you didn’t accomplish the goals you had wanted to achieve? This can be avoided if you properly map out your day/year and do things according to the schedule.
Make time for friends and family
It’s important to make time for your loved ones, to offload and catch up. Unwind and take time off from your daily responsibilities. Remember, that you deserve time off every now and then.
You deserve to live a life that you are happy with, and this starts with finding balance and aiming to be more positive, Choma. I hope that 2020 is the year you choose to prioritise your wellbeing and live your best life.
